Mexican banks will open accounts in both pesos and dollars for you, and having one of each is advisable. The process to open a bank account will take about 2 – 4 weeks after receipt of the following items:
a) Articles of Incorporation translated into Spanish and Notarized.
b) General Corporate Banking Resolutions translated into Spanish and Notarized.
c) Signature cards signed exactly as the signatories signed their passports.
d) A letter from the state Ministry of Economy or from the Film Commission. The banks want to somehow justify the legitimacy of the production.

As an individual, you can open a dollar or pesos account in any bank. You will need your passport and a minimum deposit, which varies with each bank.
Banamex and Bancomer, in Rosarito, both have a 24-hour-a-day ATM machine that accepts most U.S. bank cards. Only pesos are dispensed from these machines. The Regional Manager of Banamex, Lic. Enrique Nava has been working with Baja Studios since the beginning and has continued to service all production companies shooting here. The phone number of Banamex is: 011 52 (661) 612 1556, 57 or 58.
