If you are stopped by a Mexican law enforcement officer, while driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, you may be escorted to a police station for a test to be administered by medical personnel to determine the level of your intoxication. A doctor may examine you and determine whether you are legally under the influence of alcohol without giving you a blood test. The first time a driver is caught driving under the influence of alcohol does not usually result in imprisonment, provided damages to third parties or other felonies were not committed.
