Working in Baja certainly gives you the opportunity to brush-up on your Spanish if you wish to do so. Although knowing Spanish is helpful, it is definitely not a prerequisite to working effectively at Baja Studios. Mexican staff members at the studio are bilingual as are most film crew, local hotel staff, restaurant staff and vendors.
